I was born in Kent and now live in the North-West, just outside of Liverpool. I love travelling, home and abroad, and all that has to offer from art and history through to culture and cuisine.
I have a passion for reading and writing with my Dad’s membership of three local libraries impressing the value of books upon me from a young age.
I am fascinated by the oral tradition and the art of storytelling from ancient times and how these tales are closely reflected in our behaviours today –plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose.
The primary focus of my writing is Young Adult historical fiction. I also enjoy writing poetry, in particular Haiku and Tanka forms, as well as flash fiction and short stories.
I am a keen saxophonist and love to play Blues, Funk, Jazz, and Soul. I am learning the piano with a mix of classical, Irish folk and Klezmer.
I also review professional and amateur theatre and concerts and I’ve provided links to my reviews and the production companies and venues on the Theatre page.
I am a founding member of Liverpool writing group, Written Inc.
